Fun in Wellington!

I had an awesome time in Wellington on thursday with my best bud. Lots of shopping and food. The first thing we did was head off to Te Papa Museum. I hadn't been there for about a year. It was pretty cool. First we mucked around at the kids store upstairs where I bought a "Where The Wild Things Are" badge set. The highlight for me at Te Papa was when I saw a fantastic painting by one of my favourite New Zealand painters, Robin White. I've always thought she is one of New Zealand's best painters and her style is so unique. All her paintings represent New Zealand and New Zealand life which is why she is so amazing. After a nice stroll around Te Papa I headed off for lunch. We decided to eat at Satay Kingdom which down a little alley way off Cuba St. The food way amazing and ridiculously cheap. Big portions. I couldn't even finish my meal. I got this huge plate of sweet and sour pork which also came with rice. After lunch we randomly stopped at any shop we thought looked interesting. Eventually we stumbled across Kate Sylvester. I was so happy to go in there. I've had my eye on her badges from her lastest collection for ages. I was lucky to pick up one as there was only one left. I got such a pretty badge. It's black with a white swan, light blue crown and the initials KS. I loved Kate Sylvester because the clothes were awesome (I didn't buy any clothing but definately the best looking I saw all day) and the service way great. We then went around the corner and stopped at Artikel. I had never been in there before and I was totally surprised at how awesome the shop was. They sell funky furniture and lots of jewellery. After that we had to stop next door  at Karen Walker because I had been looking forward to going there for about a week. Unfortunately I couldn't buy a pair of socks from her "The Village" collection but I did instead buy an awesome broken pearl t-shirt in grey. The pearl print is classic Karen Walker. I was definately tempted to buy more stuff from there but I had to stick to my budget. I didn't want to leave Karen Walker but there was more to see. My friend and I have an obsession with tea and we just had to stop at our favourite place, T-Leaf. They sell basically every tea under the sun. I didn't actually buy any tea for once but my friend bought an amazing oolong and ginseng tea. Our legs had started to become tired so we slowly made our way to the Old Bank Arcade where we stopped at Lush and of course Ruby. Nothing really tickled my fancy there which was a let down. Mucked around at other random shops and then eventually decided to go to my favourite place in Wellington for tea and cake, CHA. We ordered a Chocolate Mud Cake and green and jasmine tea. It was great to relax there as we had to head home after that because we needed to beat the after work traffic rush. Wish we could have stayed longer though. Overall I had an awesome time.
