Chanel Haute Couture FW 2011/2012

A highlight of any Paris Fashion Week would have to be Chanel, and Karl has yet again created such an elegant and classic Haute Couture collection. The collection is definitely not the most colourful but there is so much texture to the clothes that the lack of colour does not hinder the black and white combinations but instead lifts them.
I loved the entire collection but my favourite design has to be the white feather like dress. It is so chic but it could also be dressed down. Perfect!

Chanel Tattoos!

Every girls dream is to own something Chanel right? Well I finally fulfilled my dream two weeks ago when I purchased a set of temporary tattoos from Chanel's SS 2010 runway show. I would have prefered my first Chanel purchase to be the classic 2.55 Bag, but at this stage of my life I just don't have the money. I have applied a tiny Chanel logo in a circle as my first tattoo on my left arm just above my hand. It looks pretty good and it hasn't come off after 3 days.

The Garden of Chanel

Chanel has just shown their SS 2011 collection for Paris Fashion Week. As always it was a huge spectacle which had a garden for the runway and a magnificent fountain as the centerpiece. Clemence Poesy and Keira Knightley were enjoying the show with front row seats. The clothes were incredibly colourful and I loved all the feathers and accessories. I am especially in love with the cute little gold bag that looks like it could only hold a cellphone.

Chanel Fall 2010 Couture

Nobody does couture like Chanel. Unless you are super rich these beautiful clothes are not for general sale. Oh I would love to own a piece of Chanel couture.

Melbourne: Day 6

One of my best days in Melbourne so far. My friend and I decided to take a train to Chadstone Shopping Centre and it was so awesome! Apparently it is the largest mall in the southern hemisphere. The mall had everything. Lots of food and designer stores. I felt like I had died and gone to heaven! I finally got to check out the Shanghai-Paris Chanel collection which was awesome. Very beautiful. We went into Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Prada and Miu Miu etc. I bought the cutest Miu Miu cat pin ever. The cat pin is from the Miu Miu Spring 2010 runway show. It comes in three colours: pink, white and blue but I bought it in white as it will match with most of my clothing. My assistant at Miu Miu was so lovely. She was so bubbly and friendly. My friend and I just thought she was so cute!

Chanel Paris-Shanghai

I love the current Chanel Paris-Shanghai collection. I'm planning on going to Melbourne, Australia in two months time and  I really want to check out the collection at the Chanel boutique there. Unfortunately there are no Chanel boutiques in New Zealand which is such a shame. I'm basically forced to go to Australia if I want to check out Chanel. I've never actually been inside a Chanel boutique, just outside one. I just didn't have the courage to go in because I was dressed like a slob when I walked passed one when I was in San Francisco, so I have no idea what to expect. I know that shops shouldn't judge their customers on what they were but everyone does it, especially expensive boutiques. Anyways back to what I really want to talk about and that is the collection. I really love brooches and bags and this collection is perfect. I love the use of Chinese dragons and the colour red. There's even a Chinese doll clutch which is a variation on last seasons Paris-Moscou Russian doll clutch. I just pray that most of the collection isn't sold out when I get to Melbourne because I really want to check it out.

I Heart Alexa Chung!

I don't know why but I just love Alexa Chung! Her style is so effortless yet so chic. She's one lucky girl and has been attending lots of fashion shows. She's been spotted in the front row of the Fall collections for Louis Vuitton, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Chanel.

Tavi and Alexa new BFFs?

I love this picture of Tavi and Alexa Chung at the Chanel Spring 2010 Couture show. It's good they don't look too serious at a fashion event. This week has been haute couture week in Paris. Tavi, the 13 year old blogging sensation was lucky enough to attend the Chanel show. Jealous much? Why is Tavi so famous? I actually think that her age has to do with her being famous. I mean everyone thinks she's amazing because she started her blog when she was 11. All these people look up to her as some sort of child genius. Well I don't actually think it's that hard to be a blogger. Basically everyone knows how to use a computer these days. Will Tavi's novelty wear out when she finally grows into a young woman? I mean how many child actors have made the transition into adulthood? I can't even think of many. Hmm Elijah Wood, Drew Barrymore and........ seriously I can't think of anymore. I actually hope Tavi sticks to blogging when she's older as it seems to work for her. I just don't know how long her fame will last though.

Chinese Influence!

Hearting the Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 collection. It's not everyday that you see a collection that is influenced by China. I think Chanel doing this collection just shows the increasing popularity of the brand in China and they even decided to have half of the models on the runway to be Chinese, which was a refreshing change. I thought the collection was very chic as usual. I hearted how it looked very Chinese but still very Chanel. The jewellery I thought was the stand out with all the Empress styled earrings and necklaces. Hearted the whole collection! Chanel doesn't seem to be the only ones hearting China at the moment. Prada has commissioned Chinese Artist Yang Fudong to create a short film for their Spring Men's ad campaign.
